Welcome to our site!
We are Val and Chris Nicholls-Roddy and our home in Leicestershire is shared with five Norwegian Forest Cats and Patsy our tortoiseshell 'moggie'.
Being cat lovers and long term owners of many rescue cats we both became interested in the breed early in 2006.
The name 'Anitkatts' stems from its first four letters;
As Nature Intended Them,
because we felt that those few words go a short way towards defining the Norwegian Forest Cat :-)
(most definitely a short way though! it would take a lot more than these few pages to sum up this wonderful animal.....and then some!)
We bought home our first young lady
GB* Jotunkatts Milva in June 2007 and
Mystique (Stikki) in September 2007… and as Stikki and her brother Yoro Kobi, were inseperable...... he just ‘had’ to come with her.
Yoro has been asking for a little brother to take care of for a while so we recently relented and
GB* Jotunkatts Viking (Iorek) joined us in June 2008….
We are very grateful to Firoza and Na'il Davies of Jotunkatts for allowing us to have these wonderful 'wegies'
Our sixteen year old moggie Patsy has taken all of this in her stride,and rediscovered her youth along the way…and so… our family was complete..for a while! ...well...it was :-)...GB* Anitkatts Red Sonja is now the latest member to stay with us :-)
Our cats are our family and as such are free to roam around the house and their garden at their leisure, it's probably more true to say that we are just their caretakers and mortgage payers!
Having spent many months designing and building an outside area suitable for them they now have their own secure garden accessed by a cat flap from the house. This means that they can come and go as they wish while remaining safe from harm. (new pics of the March / April additions to the garden are now on our gallery page)
As new breeders our aim is to breed loving and healthy kittens of this beautiful natural cat............we want them to remain just as nature intended ! :-)
